I initially had trouble forming a compelling idea for this Challenge. My first draft was drab junk. I didn't hit on the idea of mocking ad copy until much later. Fortunately, two seeds had been planted long ago: (a) I had been reading Early to Rise, so I had learned a couple of things about direct marketing ad copy (although I didn't properly make use of leading with a 'great' headline), and (b) I had already known of the great Frankie Manning, so I was able to build a strong closing with the Lindy Hopping. I was well-served by not settling with my draft.
So, my lesson this week is to take a break and then perform one or two later editing passes, against both the language and the coherence of the conception. Giving myself time for ideas to 'percolate' really saved me this week.
